Heart transplant: It’s a lot to learn but “we continue to be very very grateful for the gift he has been given and the team that brought him and our family to this place.” Kate, a mom of a son who received a heart transplant, describes much of what it has been like for her son post transplant — how he feels, how he is doing, what he understands. “He does not know that he had the same condition that took his brother’s life. That he was given this gift and his brother wasn’t. He also doesn’t know he had that another child had to die for him to receive this gift.”
